Step UP and Be Brave

I've been reflecting a lot lately on things. Each year I write down all I've accomplished and set goals for the new year. I recently had a lady ask me about my pottery and she said, that is really cool. It hit me in that statement. Yes, yes it is really cool. I love to create. It's like food for me and I've learned that it's essential for my survival all around. I used to down play it, but the older I get the more I realize I am an artist in everything I do. Photography, painting, watercolor, doodling, crocheting, pottery, and even the art of making gourmet jams. I love to create. I also love to encourage and if I get to create and do the same!! That is a recipe for pure joy for me. The joy I get when someone buys a Happy Mushroom (crochet, not drugs) it's a feeling that I absolutely love. Or when someone tastes my jam and they throw their head back with pure enjoyment of the flavor combos I made. There is nothing like it.
I got to thinking how I came about making these items and what it took to get me here. I wanted to learn pottery. So I took a class. Did I have to get creative on the time and schedule it with work, kids, and meals? Yes, I did. But I took a chance and was brave. I did it and then I did it again. I set a goal, made a plan, and then I made it happen. I didn't just dream or wish about it. I did it! And you can too. Be brave enough to try something new. Who knows where it will take you. Does it have to be art? Nope! Just take a chance and do the thing that you've been dreaming about. Maybe you will love it or maybe you will hate it. You won't know till you step up and become brave enough to try.
I believe in you! Go do it! Love, Sue
